No matter where you’re at as we start this week and you’re reading this, I just want you to breathe slowly and deeply. The low kind that completely fills your lungs in such a satisfying way. Once you’ve got enough air, slowly let it out. Along with it, expel any extra stress or sorrow or anger you may be feeling. Do this a few times. Maybe close your eyes while you do so. But as you close your eyes, I would like for you to do something. Ask yourself what love is to you. What does it feel like? What does it look like?
After contemplating this, close your eyes and imagine yourself where you feel most at ease, the place you love. Or perhaps it’s a place where you feel loved, like in the arms of your significant other. Maybe you prefer quiet and peaceful solitude. Perhaps you’re sitting cross-legged on the beach during a cloudy day, listening to the waves, feeling the gentle mist, smelling the fresh air… no problems or worries. It’s just yourself in an absolute state of serenity and freedom.
Start off every day like this. Even if you’re halfway through the day, all the way done, or even going to sleep for the night, there’s no reason for you not to try to find where you’re most at peace. It’s never too late to slow down and allow yourself to relax.
